Yesterday's Inspiration

During my high school years, my inspiration for art was Francis Bacon. Francis Bacon is an deep emotional abstract painter, his imagery of raw meat and isolation made his work iconic-yet disturbing. When I was at the Tate Modern looking around to see if anything was interesting , but when I've seen one of Bacon's works; I felt surprised. I can't remember what the title, but if you seen this image, you might know what it's called. After visiting the Tate, the teacher then told us to do research on Francis Bacon's life and work. Compared to all the others in my class, I was good at abstract; all the others were shocked. This is a drawing of Bacon'd piece, done in black chalk on brown paper. I then changed Bacon to another iconic artist; I was again inspired by Tracey Emin. I'm not saying Francis Bacon isn't the person I look up to, but Tracey Emin is the icon that I look up to now.
