Inspiring, I like the way you kept the character symmetric in this one, the lips and nose are beautiful, I hope you dont mind me using this tyle in a few of my sketches.

I enjoyed how much 'bright' there is in this, despite it being a particularly dark subject matter.
Where did the inspiration come from.
I thoroughly enjoyed how "going from top to bottom" the picture starts with the gore around the dahlia's mouth, then to the decaying hands that hold her face. All of a sudden, there's the life and beauty of a flower dropping petals into a white fall out. Very contrasting.

The most obvious inspiration is with no doubt the story behind the Black Dahlia murder, though composition wise I think I was most inspired by the concept art from a game called "The Path.
Mainly, I wanted to try creating something that exhibited contrast while maintaining a dark theme.
Seems like I was pretty successful with that, haha.

Amazing.
Absolutely beautiful work of art. Some people are commenting on how the white at the bottom makes it appear unfinished, and I do agree a bit, but it doesn't look bad at all. Maybe making it a very light yellow and pulling out the gradient by the flower a bit more would make it look more complete.
