Everything and Nothing

Full title: The Theory of Everything and Nothing.
They found the cave where there used to be somebody. This person was looking for a way to connect both everything and nothing. He never found out how and left his work to be. Thousands of years later, they found it.

From the SideTrip painting series.

Update: I made a time lapse video of the entire process, check it out: http://youtu.be/UtC3HcX-xfs

As soon as i saw this i thought of a side-scroller. This style would be amazing, can just imagine the beautiful lighting and melodic music in the background. Make it happen!

The Model and secret of Universe!

"I've found it. The place where every universe meets."

This is such a cool concept.

Colors and composition are good but I don't like that I can't read any of it, besides the character and the orb the rest just looks like a mess. Also I see the depth, but only so far as the middle ground. It doesn't feel like there's a foreground which bothers me.

ErrorCell responds:

Well you're pretty spot on with what I struggled with on this round. This scene was actually first created and rendered in 3D. I later painted right on top of it, added several layers of glow and glare... which is probably making this really awkward confusion between foreground background stuff. If I had another 3~4 hours of my life to remake this, that's basically what I'd work on.

Thanks for the commentary!

Man at this rate SideTrip's gonna be epic.

ErrorCell responds:

I'm not necessarily super proud of this fact but I've been writing and rewriting SideTrip (under various names) for almost 15 years now. It's been very difficult to write it given the scope of the project and also the idea keeps on going almost everywhere. I finally got down with "SideTrip" being a painting series only last year. So yes! Expect a whole load more for years to come!

Thanks for the comment, keep watching.
