There is definitely a lot of stuff going on in this drawing, I always try to create pictures that are open to interpretation, even if I have something really specific in mind. In this case, the skull is an reference to Hamlet's soliloquy that starts with "To be, or not to be, that is the question...", and in which he contemplates suicide. So my initial intention was that the girl was reflecting upon her own mortality.

about the girl herself, I'd rather leave that up to your imagination...
