The Hunt

Share

Done in pencil in about 2-3 hours, I'll upload the original sketch eventualy. Painted in PS in about 4-5 more hours. I wish I had more spare time to work on this one, plus I tried a new style and I think it looks fine, let me know what you think.

" A young hunter intends to prove himself to his village and ventures deep into the enchanted forest, hoping to find a rare species of deer. The hunter overcomes his fears and pushes deeper and deeper through the ever thickening woods, not knowing what to expéct from the unexplored wilds. At sunset, the young man starts looking for the way back when he realizes that he is lost. As the sun is setting, the man's eyes catch a glipse of a glowing creature, a beautiful light that danced towards him. However, he feared the wilds and without hesitation, he shot the creature with a single well aimed arrow. The wounded animal cried unlike any deer the man had heard. This was a sad lament, one last song before colapsing. As the man approached his kill, he heard footsteps running quickly towards the fallen beast. Quietly, a tall woman, with amazing beauty and desperate eyes approached the agonizing animal and carefully caressed it's face. In the complete silence that followed, all the hunter could hear was the sobbing of the girl, and the sound of her tears falling over the wound. As he listened carefully, he heard the trees lamenting as well, and soon he realized he had killed not a great deer, nor a wild horse. He knew he had shot the heart of the forest, and maybe the heart of the girl as well..."
