I painted this piece in 2010 with acrylics on wrapped canvas after I took a photo with my cell phone during an evening visit to a jazz club in south Florida where my uncle performed with the jazz band as keyboardist. This was the evening after the funeral of his father, my grandfather, who had previously retired and become an excellent painter at 70-something years old. I decided to keep up the family tradition.
Items to note- I left out the facial details on purpose. The point is the musical performance and the atmosphere of the room. Are you expecting to hear jazz? Yes? Good. Enjoy.
