Since I have little to no experience with painting backgrounds on Photoshop I decided to practice by drawing a tree and mushrooms. I hope I get better with backgrounds!!
Have you considered experimenting with different photo textures? The starscape one's getting a little overused, seems all the rage on dA, even when the texture looks out of place. I mention it, because you used the same one on both subjects, even though as plants, they are vastly different.
Aside from that, these subjects do look well drawn and colored.
