The Underground - Surreal Illustration
This is a newly colored illustration, called "Underground", or "Mole People", if you like more. The idea is show a sick and surreal world with subtexts of interpretation.

Made with pen and hydrographic pen in 2009 and digitally colorized just yesterday. I like so much the idea and with color the work gain more attention.

about the room with the fish and the crapping guy i understand thier bouth crapping in the same pool but one of them isnt there..=everyone doesnt care also the one which are in the problem.
the dude with the money i thought its like fishing but now i think that the dude holding the money is trying to keep the drowning dude out of the water(with crap in it XD)
the bird cant move =no freedom
the peeping guy hes just peeping at a dude upside down fishing who`s trying to get more dudes into this underground city? and the other too just watch and learn?
i guess you never though about it but yet thats what i see.. nice job!

dimitrikozma responds:

Hi Joni-k
So good your analysis, I have my own interpretation of the work, but I'd like to let everyone with his interpretation. I love to hear different point of views of same work. That's the essence of surrealism. :-)
Thanks for your comments!
Cheers!

Message cloudy

My fault for trying too hard... Read all kinds of ideas into this until my head began smoking from friction... Then I stopped, enjoyed the drawing's detail & ignored the author's meaning. Ahhh, that's better.

dimitrikozma responds:

Parayungsta, thanks for trying some ideas. That's the point. :-)
