I'm not the deep thinking type, so this reminds me of the Futurama episode when they win a trip to the Slurm factory.

Hmmm I see it like a mother who has been forced into this position of just being there to make children and control them being forced-desperate for escape, sacrificing one of the children to a higher power(can see the light centered on her) to escape-change.
