I can't really decide whether this guy is being a pessimist or not..
I mean, a pessimist would be negative about everything, so therefore everything that happened would be a positive.
This guy is saying that we have everything to start with and everything that happens [illness, loss, fatigue] is just a negative..
So he's the opposite of a pessimist? That can't be...
I dunno.

You could argue that you also gain stuff, like children or whatever but.. not really.
