There is a lot of similarities between Wolverine and Sabretooth and Popeye and Bluto. Bluto even calls Popeye a runt a lot. I drew most of this in flash last year after renting Popeye the Sailor dvds on netflix. And wow, this is an old cartoon. Older then Superman and political correctness! Bluto even beats up Olive in it! Popeye tells him "Don'ts u knows Womenz is the weakest sex?"
You can have your loony toon babies and super hero teen helper friends. I'll take stuff like Popeye and pretend quality still counts for something.
Anyway, I had to fix it up a lot so it took a while for me to get it to a point where I was satisfied. Please don't expect any cartoons from me for a LONG time. I have no idea. That's the way it is, Bub.

great drawing! each time i see it, it seems very good-looking (unlike wolverine, LOL!) and very... fitting. i can't help but imagine popeye like hogan, and be all-wolverine -like, and saying ''im wolvey-e the wolverein man!'' SLASH SLASH and he slashes the screen logo, into an ''X'', like x-men! hahahaha!
you're very creative, and fun!
lastly, you could do the same with some looney tunes, characters, or with *shudder* sonic! haha
or simply draw disney characters.

Bravo!!
It's nice to see some one who still knows what good cartoons are now or days! While I never made the connection I see you got a point there, personaly I would rather see Wolverine and Popeye fight to the death "Come on New Grounds make it!" 10/10 man You should do Felix the cat next!
Ha. Thanks for your comments! Isn't Felix the cat a wimp? My mom liked him so I'm gonna go ahead and make that assumption. But I'm sure given the age, they managed to squeeze something racist or sexist in it.
I think Popeye would win against Wolverine. I don't think Logan can get mortally hurt in Marvel comics anymore but Popeye has cartoony power that allows him to build entire bridges in three seconds with some spinach. How many kids were tricked into eating spinach because of Popeye?
