BW Play Friend And Enter

I usually never upload things in more than one version, but this time I really can't decide
which one I prefer. This is the earlier version of "play friend and enter" before I added a bit of watercolour.
I don't know which of the two is more in the fairy tale book style of illustration.
Most of the German fairy tale books I own are just ink (yes, the really dark old stories where many people die). Don't know if its the same wherever you live.
