This is my contest entry for Jazza's Challenge of the Month. This month challenge involved combing traditional art with digital art, so I decided to make a mountainscape that uses gouache paint, and MS Paint. The links at the top will show you how I made this, up till the gouache portion of this piece. The last step to making this piece, was painting the digital half in MS Paint, which took a little while, but I think the result turned out nice. The last detail was to add a mouse stylus signing the digital half, and a paint brush painting the traditional half. I ,at first, tried to print out the piece, and take a picture of my hand signing the piece, but the quality of the photo wasn't that great, so I superimposed a picture of a hand with a paintbrush to this piece. I had a blast painting this, from beginning to end. Well, I hope you like this painting, and have a nice day.

I really like the way you did the trees and I think it's really unexpected for someone to use MS Paint, such a classic tool historically for digital art, in this contest. The yellow is a nice touch from the setting sun, but some of the lighting is inconsistent and if it were to be interpreted as light, it shouldn't really appear on surfaces in shadow.

The stock photo you put in here has a watermark on it, and it's really distracting. I would have liked to see you have drawn it yourself, or taken your own picture.

Thank you for the feedback. I did actually tried to take a picture, but the picture didn't really look that well. I do like your observations, I will keep those in mind next time I make another painting.

This is really awesome! It's really well done, and I love how you took "tradigital" so literally! So cool! <3

DahMagicMan responds:

Thank you. I was hoping this looked awesome.
