First painting for 2014! Collaboration project between my sister and myself! really enjoying this so far..she handled the design of the character and I painted and chose the overall scheme, pose and mood.
Painted in photoshop and took about 9 hours in total

as PotentApogee has said.. the art is great and the lines are smooth and flowing.. the art is self feels msitical to me... thoughh sadly i will have to pick at one that that is painfuly ovious... that is not a Dryad that is a Centaur that i'm seeing in the pic... but i can see how first would make you think of a dryad but that is what i see is a centaur

Gosh, Dahlia, you're unbelievably talented. Oh wait, another collaboration! Tell your sister that she's epic, too: especially when it comes to character design, it seems.

The various vines and roots entwining themselves around that majestic central Dryad came out fab, I think the idea of her clothing being sort of natural, grassy growths is a wonderful idea.

The pose is fluid and calm: I'm liking the whole sort of peaceful clopping pose, and how you've drawn her suspended mid-pose. Whatever brush you used to illustrate the surrounding plantlife and flowers has been used very well: the dabs of deep pink are splendid touches to the whole 'fantasy forest' environment you have here.

The kind of phosphorescent butterflies trailing themselves around the Dryad's wrists and arms complete the piece nicely: simple but elegant.

Can't get enough of that breathtaking curtain of hair, either, I like the motion and colour of it.

You've exceeded my expectations once more, friend. 2014 will be a very enjoyable year if more art like this comes around. Keep it up! :)

ah thankyou so much..I really appreciate your critiques. Makes me feel like I expanded my horizons when I decided to collaborate with my sister since she has always had a good eye for fashion as well. Helps my characters come more to life. I am learning from her as well! :)
and, definitely, we will be making collabs more often!
