How would you classify your style over the last four or five pictures? I'm at a loss to put it in words. Clearly post apocalyptic but beyond that........impressionist sketch?

CyK974 responds:

Well, postapoc is something I paint a lot, for sure. But man, how would I classify it ?... I have to admit that's a tricky one, ^^ !
I've asked myself this question a few times before.

I try to make my style fit to what I want to paint. Let's just say, when I want to paint something, the idea kind of 'speaks' by itself most of the time. Let me explain, this one for instance, a slum. i won't take my time to really dig into details. a slum is messy, so I try to go with this idea. Not pure mess, but once I have all I want (main buildings, subject...), that's where I tell myself "okay, you got it". some people would just call this style "too messy" or "unfinished", but I know that's the way i wanted this painting to look like. I know that's the feel i wanted. (And this one is particulary messy xD)

For other paintings though, it would probably not be as "messy" as this one. As I said, I try to mak my style fit to what I paint. So "impressionist sketch" ? Maybe. But not all the time either. That's why I told you it was a tricky one ;)
I hope it was clear enough, sorry if it was a bit long !
