I counted 23, maybe 24, but I'm probably wrong.
I love the texture and style of the illustration. It's hard to tell whether it is digital or traditional. Maybe a combination of both?

30 cats initially but it's not the full image ;) Yes it's exactly that: combination of traditional watercolor then a lot of photoshop ;)
