This is my entry to the "draw with jazza COTM". This drawing shows Samus and a metroid from the Metroid Nintendo game series. However, they are different looking than in the games.
Samus has a suit powered by the stone on her right forearm, also her cannon, which also produces flames in her suit, but they do not hurt her. Her suit has some metal bolted together, and also some wood on her forearm and shins.
The metroid following behind her has a more dragon look to it, with its scales and wings, and believes Samus to be its mother (canon). Samus saw no harm in bringing along the strange creature in her adventures, and they soon bonded, becoming close very quickly.
The logo of the Metroid series appears behind the two characters, and on the bottom there is a ribbon looking like a sort of motto. It is. "Dormius Nunquam Titillandus Cerebri." This is a variation of the Hogwarts school motto from Harry Potter, and is written in Latin. Translated, it says "Never tickle a sleeping brain," which is a direct reference to Mother Brain, a large villain in the classic game series.
This challenge was very difficult for me in certain areas, but definitely helped advance my skills in some ways. I had to do a variation of Samus, and that required a bit of a redesign. I used Jazza's character design process, and it worked out very well, resulting in the look of the armor and metroid in the final drawing. It challenged my ability to do original drawings, and really pushed my limits. It took a few drawings before this one to perfect the look, and i am very happy with how it turned out.
I really hope that you at least showcase this in the beginner category, Jazza, and i really hope that you think highly of me as an artist, since I'm only fourteen. I'm really excited to see how this contest turns out, mostly because I've never entered any of my art into a contest of any sort before this.
