A little while ago I was asked by the amazing artist and all around nice guy Dave Wilkins to do an El Zombo pin up for his new book and after being completely awestruck I went to work on this I wanted to get an 80's Video game /Movie poster look for it.

You should have just called it "El Steroids". I don't know what the Spanish word for steroids is. I thought this guy would be a zombie. Anyway, it's a fantastic picture. I think the best part is that giant octopus monster. That has to be Cthulhu. I guess I just think any giant green octopus monster is Cthulhu.

The shark's entire lower jaw seems to be a chainsaw. There's just so many awesome things in this. A pity I'm not a fan of pro wrestling. My brother used to be. The green limo's quite cool too.

Were this a poster/t-shirt I'd buy it immediately. Reminds me of that late 80s/early 90s era of animation (SpaceAce vibe) and gorgeous use of colors.

really sweedy! i appreciate the professionalism of the lineart and the well done work in balancing the different parts of the pic to a clear composition. Otherwise i must admit, that it's not really looking like a poster from the 80ies. Its way to clean, to fresh and to photoshop-looking for that. You should be braver with using more stylized colors and a generelly more stylized look
