A short 2 hour sketch I did on photoshop. The city took most of the time, while the tree stayed pretty rough. I put on a tapestry texture in the background (which I didn't do) and added a distorted version of the city acting as a halo around the tree. Pretty bland composition, but hey, its my first submission

orgasmic.

haha im loving it.

I missed one?

Wow; i missed a damn big one too. This picture is waaay to much for me explain at 3:00 in the morning. All i must say is that the concept here is gorgeous, and the halo looks wonderful. The lace is cool because it isn't pretty like it should be, but rather a crude texture. All in all, a very wholesome and impressive work. The kind i want on my wall.

Great job (past tense of course,) and a good 3 weeks ago to you. 5/5

thanks

again!
this was one of my first digital paintings so I experimented a lot more.
I'm glad you like it because I don't think it looks a lot like my other art

btw thats one fat tree

This shit kicks ass

this, just as all the rest of your work, is simple and yet one the most artistic stuff I can find on Newgrounds.

I can't wait till you start making really detailed things :D

CptBeefcake responds:

Thanks, but I don't know what to say to your comment about detailed art... I've always considered what I do to be sketches, but the more I do them the more I adjust to that style. My idea on realistic or detailed art is that when something becomes so detailed or realistic there is a point where the mood the emotion in the piece can be lost, and in the process of creating a very intricate piece its easy to forget the big picture; the reason why you made it in the first place. In many ways I care more about the idea I am trying to convey than the way in which I do it. I am inspired by feelings, not the drawing process.

I can spare you the lecture though, obviously I'm just being a killjoy on your enthusiasm, its great to have people who care about my work! Also the more I do art definitely the more detailed it will become, I am actually considering doing a drawn work instead of keeping it all in my sketchbook.

I'd agree that this shit kicks ass, but then I look at someone else's piece and I end up saying that to them!

sigh

It's people like you that make me wonder why i even try lol.

CptBeefcake responds:

I feel the exact same way about a lot of other things. :P
By the way thanks for scouting me, I was unscouted before and I don't know why, I'm glad someone appreciates the stuff I've done; unlike some people who go around giving all my stuff a rating of one for no reason

last thing, how did you find my page? besides the blogs page I have no idea how to scout people out without just jumping around newground submissions and looking at the author's profile.

thanks again, and obviously you're not bad or you wouldn't have been scouted
