Descent

This is a drawing I did which is loosely based off another called digging. I sharpened it up a little and added a lot of confusing effects to make everything really cluttered but still engaging. I usually keep works a little less insane, but for this one I decided the image should really stand out and hit the viewer.

I really like this pic, I cant really explain why though, maybe the dark kind of smudgy contrast, definetely not your tipycal tree that you would find in a park....

seems like a new style

even though its watercolor like most of you are,it seems defferent,like you said,more gritty...
its more saturated and dark,awesome.

I agree that it looks quite different, but that may also be because I ran it through photoshop. With almost all my other art on newgrounds I just quickly adjusted stuff like contrast and brightness before I posted them. With this I've added a little more colour, some splatter and with the other one some noise and blur.

It's unique that's for sure

There needs to be more art like this because all I see is a bunch of cartoons and anime. It's ok but there is way too much. I really like looking at this, I dont know why... I really love it, keep it up.

thanks, and I agree. seeing all the cartoons and rehashed anime drawings is really getting old, but there is still tons of talent out in the art portal. Check out my favourite artists for some great work, its not much like mine though.

this is reeeaaally good, and thats a very cool effect u did. even if its a little more insane, it still looks very good, and hope you add more art like this

haha, thanks. The main reason for me adding so much grittyness though was because this was a request done for someone, and they wanted it to be very.... I don't think gloomy is the right word but you get what I mean. It's nice to see a good reaction for this sort of work, because you're right, I often try to stay within a certain limit

also if you liked this you might like digging (obviously because this is based of it) and deadwood.
