Its like a kid's imagination with a dash of of surrealism by George A. Gonzalez
During times of great weakness, when the skies turn black with smoke and the people are filled with hatred and greed, the night begins to shatter, and shards of sky fall to the ground in booms louder than lightening. The Middlesky, the part which holds it together, begins to cave in, and if it touches the planet, then everything ends. In order to stop this, something must willingly sacrifice himself to an eternal state of glass, replacing the last Middlesky holder who shattered during the last era of darkness.
Skywielder, formerly known as Belkitier (Bell-keesh-ay), took on a role that ultimately saved existence. He was an odd soul and a forgotten outcast, even by his one sister, Soriaxia, who left him to fulfill her own goal as a guardian of the trader's route. What made Belkitier save the world that had forsaken him? Nobody knows, but once the first shard fell from the sky, he immediately set out for the Middlesky. Once his body crystallized, and his brown hide turned white, all was well again in the world. The sky shone beautifully, and the inhabitants of the world inexplicably settled their dark differences. The world is oblivious to Skywielder and his sacrifice, but he did tell this to one baffled traveler that he met right before he reached Middlesky:
"I do this for the planet. I accept that my name will not be what's remembered, but the world which I preserve will be known to all its people forever."
