As a kid, Beetlejuice was the first movie I ever saw that made me realize it was okay to be weird. It was a complete accident that I even saw it when I did.
One night when I was about 9, I couldn't sleep so I got up to walk around the house for a bit. As I came into the living room, my dad was channel surfing, and in between channels I saw this dead guy in a black and white striped suit. I begged him to go back to that channel.
I've always considered that accidental moment to be one of the turning points in my life that has made me want to pursue a life in the arts.
