To my opinion, I personally don't like the anime manga styled eyeballs. Though what I can say though is that the shading played a very big part in this portrait, without it I don't think this would go very far. I also like the style of the camouflage around his pants. I think if you were looking to make this more of a realistic figure, you should remove and replace those eyes and maybe change the unnatural arm pose. I don't know why but the arms just seem not too realistic for them to just be placed like that. But I can see you still can draw, very well to say the least.
All and all, it's good but needs some improvements.
