This is what the snowflake originally looked like - an upside down star overlaid upon a snowflake design.. I edited this to look as much as a cosmic flower as I could - make is look sort of translucent and filled with stars :)
I'm still not sure if its too bright or not.. and duller and it starts to get lost in the background a bit too much.. I think this one will either be a yay or nay with most people - a personal taste battle.
Personally I love it :)
Medium: Apophysis 2.09, photoshop.
enjoy!

Very nice.
Well, for one I love this picture. When you look at the image up close its very calming, and it's clear that a lot of attention was given to detailing the picture. The intertwining of the stars, the colors, the sharpness of the image...it is all very beautiful.
Thanks for creating a great work of art, it really deserves the 10.
Thanks man - glad you appreciate all the hard work that wen into it :)
thanks for the review!

Cool
Can't say this is the sort of thing that really impresses me, but I can say that it is done quite nicely. The picture itself is kind of a neat representation of what you said and I liked it enough to make it my background. But in terms of overall impression this submission was lacking.
I take my art review style like I take different types of women, I mean I'm sure you can agree you know some women who are just plain ugly, some are attractive and some are just plain wow. Well this submission seemed to be just attractive, it didn't have any real substance to it, nothing that made me care for it any more. And that could be for any number of reasons, granted a snowflake isn't all that great of a topic to draw about. But y'know, that was my opinion.
(I could give you advice on brightness and color, but why bother telling you to change your own artwork, you should be able to express your own ability and change it toward your own liking, on your own. Without my technical critique.)
I like my cotton candy colours to be honest - glad you somewhat liked it :)

Too bright
I think the colours here are extremely bright - too bright for my taste. Lowering the brightness would work really well here. I understand your concern about it blending in too much to the background; perhaps you could just use a simpler, less starry background?
also I'm not exactly a fan of the five-point star being together with the two 4-point stars, it doesn't seem to work extremely well. Maybe a 6-point star or two 3-point stars would work better.
Despite all that this is still an extremely beautiful image, especially combined with the background and the numerous stages of postprocessing which I don't normally do. Good work!
thanks man - enough people like it that I am not really going to change it :)
