A sketch I did of Anare'il the Dragon of Chaos.. The dot by his claw is a little girl, to show scale.. he's the size of a city.

He is entirely black and white, with reptilian eyes, 3 horns on his yead, and retractable snake-like fangs and lots and lots of teeth. His body is covered in both plate armout and fur, and his wings are composed of a combination of black sinew and white skin. His tail is very long and has black razor sharp spikes running down the length of it. He also has armor plates running along his belly. His neck has a lot of glowing coals and has 3 row of spines running along it. A rather clever and powerful beast in the end.

I originaly did this in 2004, I have since updated and upgraded all the shading - enjoy!

Heya, long time no review, Chronamut! I'm no good at all with art or reviewing it, but I must say, this drawing is absolutely fantastic. Is it/was it originally a pencil sketch? It definitely looks/feels like one. I know this is reiterating so soon in the review, but I don't know much about art so I'm just gonna give my two cents (literally two comments). The first one is that, in the description, you say its snake-like fangs are retractable; however, I believe that you should have made his snout larger on the top so that there would be room for them to slide in without them, when inside, making giant bulges (just a theoretical standpoint on this, not that dragons need logic). The only other comment is just that I absolutely love your execution and integration of the idea of both fur and plate armor on a dragon, and it's absolutely fantastic.

Cheers!

~Kipz

Chronamut responds:

A masterfully drawn Dragon. Admittedly I'm not that fond of Dragons because of just what they are, but don't get me wrong this is well done. I trust it occurred to you just what kind of food stock it would require to keep a beast of that size around, and away from everyone else?

Is this Dragon friendly? Based on research of Dragons, any Metallic Dragon is at least neutral and won't attack without a reason.

Chronamut responds:

oh he's far from friendly.. conniving, cruel, chaos, he revels in manipulation and control. Being the size of a city yeah he'd cause devastation wherever he went.

thanks for the review!
