A comic-book style coloring technique I was trying. It was also awhile since I did a self portrait, and this is TOTALLY accurate and the one on my profile needed SERIOUS updating considering how bad it is compared to what I do now. I still need work on buildings/backgrounds/sce nery
Sketched on paper, scanned in to Photoshop for digital inking and coloring.

Looks pretty good.
It overall looks great. The only downside I saw in it was the long neck; simply shorting it out would've made it better.

Very nice.
The first thing you notice about this submission is the protruding neck veins, to me I thought that was a bit exaggerated, but fully encompasses the comic book style of exaggeration. The lips and mouth were a nice change of color to the otherwise dull shades, and of course like you said the background isn't that creative. Cool submission, I think you did the job you set out to do, and quite well at that.

Review.
Pros:
It's very well drawn, and I like pretty much everything about it. The shading is fairly good, as is the art overall.
Cons:
I don't really like the way the neck looks. It looks pretty odd. They eyebrows look odd as well, I don't like how they point up how they do. It doesn't look like you put very much effort into the background either.
Overall:
It's good. You could defiantly improve in some areas, but otherwise it's good.
