This is a piece of Spray Paint Art. This is entirely done with rattle cans on poster board. Most often, I'm a musician here on NG...but hey, I like to paint as well!

You did all these pictures by spraying??? Wow, that´s pretty awesome I have to say. You are really gifted!

Ceevro responds:

Yup. I love the medium. It's super-fast, and really cheap (go to an art supply store, and you'll see what I mean really quickly). Everything I do is with rattle-cans and household garbage. I use everything from old dishes to grocery bags to newspapers to kitchen sponges to sweat socks. The only pieces of actual ART stuff I own are a single palate knife, and a plastic paint brush I stole out of an old water colour set for kids. Most paintings take less than 20 minutes to create - the secret is to move faster than spray paint dries...which can be a real challenge!

I love everything about this, Ceevro. Like most artists, you are clearly talented on a number of levels. And hey, isn't this also the CD cover image for To Be With You? I'm sure that it is... Anyway, great job. I've seen Spray Paint Artists doing their thing before, and it simply amazes me. To get such detail out of a half dozen rattle cans is bloody impressive.

Ceevro responds:

Yeah, I used it as the CD cover art, so as not to be stealing images and bustin' copyrights an all that. The thing about spray paint is that the skills aren't all that different than with oils, the pace is just much, much faster. With oil, I've spent tens of hours evening-out a simple background. With rattle-cans, the problem is the opposite. I spend 30 seconds on a perfectly even background, then I have maybe ten minutes to manipulate it before it dries! It's just a side-hobby I picked up when I saw a dude doing it in Mexico. I thought it looked cool, and I loved how quickly it happened. Time was why I stopped working in other media.

This is really awesome. I kinda wish that you'd have scanned it, but maybe that's difficult with spray paint art :p

Ceevro responds:

Impossible, I'm afraid! It's 2'x3' in size....so...uh...not fitting on my household scanner...

epic!! I love it. Do you use your spray paint styles for album art? Speed-art videos are some of my favs.. I'd love to see these in process :)
