I just bought a Cintiq Companion Hybrid recently and am trying to make good use of it. For my first formal project, I decided to redraw something I drew over 6 years ago, in 2008. I liked the original concept but it had been drawn in a very low res setting on my DS Phat screen using a homebrew app. Ah those were the days.

Anywho, this took probably 15+ hours and I had to visit it three different days after work or on weekends. The picture in the background is actually one I took in London a year ago. I thought it would be creative to use a real background as long as it fit the theme, but afterwards I felt ashamed for taking the easy road by not drawing the background. Also I think seldom can a real photo match the scene I had in my mind and I probably could have created a much more imaginative environment.

Hopefully my expensive recent purchase pushes me to do a lot more than just this!
