I love this!
I am in love with this style. The detailed pixelation is just....ugh it is fantastic. I absolutely love the design of the shadowy character on the left, and the cracks in the rock are awesome too. I am definitely keeping an eye on you, as I'm looking for an artist for a project.
I'm giving you a nine because that top right corner is almost obnoxiously bright and it really detracts from the character on the right.
Well I love it, and I hope you continue.
Your style is great!
The style of of pixel art is great! One of the problems that I immediately see however is the saturation levels and how they don't vary. In general, saturation should be higher in darker tones than lighter tones, since gray sort of acts as a lighter color than more saturated colors.
The style of pixel art sort of reminds you of the work of Swords & Sworcery in respect to the linear emphasis in the image, and high level of readability in low res images. The difference is, your style lacks a level of saturation and variation that comes from selective dithering of areas. I would also recommend that you use anti-aliasing where necessary, like the inside of the floating ground.
Overall, I like it, and a culmination of your work would make a great game or short movie. :D
Thanks for the advice! Yeah i really want to work on making things work better in harmony with the background color and objects.
This was really helpful =]
