Self Portrait

Share

I made this as a practice for relearning photoshop. 4-5 hour total, and a lot of just staring at myself in a mirror. It didn't come out to great, but the line work is kinda neat.

Enjoy!

Nice drawing

This was a nice drawing here i like the detail and comes out to be a good portrait piece would have loved more of a frame surrounding this

~X~

Interesting choice of color on this, with blue instead of the traditional black and white. Looks like it works quite well, though therer seems to be dark blue only in the face, why not the shirt as well? I'd say it does look prety realistic. The eyes are a bit bland, but their the hardest part of a portrait anyway, otherwise it looks good. Keep it going!

CameronMc responds:

I had sat for three-ish hours working on the face, and got kind of sick of it so I didn't get to the shirt. However, I do want to finish this sometime in the near future, and update this post as soon as I finish.

Oh eyes, how do they work!? It takes me forever to even get them to look like they're on the same face, but I agree that that's no excuse for boring. I will also work on this.

Thanks for your input!

Cheer up lad! I'm sure things will be better in the future for you! However, this is a pretty good self portrait -- but I'm not seeing the sadness. You mostly look disappointed. ... Maybe to enhance sadness, add more dark rings around the eyes, or mostly under -- and no upturns in that left part of your lip. Keep working on this stuff! It's looking good.

CameronMc responds:

hahaha I wasn't shooting for a particular emotion (more lack there of, as ambivalence seems to be more powerful than any particular emotion in my opinion) but I agree with you. Looking pretty depressed there.

I need to try more emotional poses. Thanks for the review!
