In the shifting changes of the void I was swallowed by an emptiness, a despair so horrid and wretched it crept into my bones. I've known this misery many times and it has never been alone.
There were others. Six in a unison of silence around me. Though they were close they would not touch. The sad ones. Old before the term old meant anything. I had seen only their bodies extending past the stars but never their heads. As for where their feet might have been, I could never truly guess and I imagine still that there is no end.
" It has the mask. It's wearing this one. " Parasites disturb us all. What to do with it...? " " Do not let it go deeper. They cannot go deeper. Ruin it. " I tried to speak but something else had taken my mouth. Something else moved my arms and as the head that was mine turned as if another's, it spoke for me.
" I am me because I choose to exist. You all will ruin before it comes to me. In here I am untouchable, unstoppable, never failing, ever seeing. I am almost whole again, more whole than you ever shall be. I have a face, you just cannot see it yet. Out there you are useless, pointless, regressing. Come in here and you will see the truth of how much I truly exist. "

They were upset but hesitant. " Do not let it leave. It cannot leave. Ruin it. " and I awoke.
