I think you're afraid to love

Share

So you're sitting in this room full of laughter having listened to a joke and you just don't get it. No one is looking at you and so no one really seems to notice or care. Get's frustrating, yeah? You've been left out of the humor and the laughter. You want to understand it but to get the meaning would take a bit of effort.

Oh no, that's..that's far too much work. That terrifying prospect of trying to see from another's point of view. So defiant about change for the most minute details. So you start to heckle the one on stage. Maybe the whole room and everyone in it, even the joke is a false pretense. It's pretentious is what it is really. So the laughter stops for that very moment. You're the center of everyone's eyes and you know what...?

Maybe you're afraid to love and have laughter and joy. Maybe you're afraid somehow you're not included in something, anything. That you're..missing out! Well my fine fellow. Just tuck yourself deep inside for a bit. Just reach on into that part of yourself that detests all the laughter, all the art, all the beauty and all the crying. Just sit with it for a bit and ask yourself why you decided to stop the laughter for the rest of them...including you for what it is worth.

I can really relate to this one and its description, it had to explain what it feels like when you don't understand something that is a bit part of society.
