I've been leaking out for awhile. Hunched against the hot concrete and feeling the black asphalt dig into my skin. The sun is blaring down on me and people just seem to enjoy the heat. I can't see so far ahead of myself. Maybe a few feet....maybe. They walk around me because I'm the road block. If I was smiling and walking their speed, maybe they would care. Or would they...? I'm alright here but I'm not alright. I'm still leaking.

Then you come along and pick me up. I'm still leaking. I'm in pieces. You don't seem to mind the extra weight. I think I'm smiling. The others almost vanish from my view. Who knows what dusk will bring.
