"Stars" is a 3D Universe simulator that I worked on as a school project. All structures are generated, from superclusters to planet surfaces. This is an in-game screenshot with added logo. Textures and logo by Adam Johanides.

This layer was a tricky one to do. I decided I want the furthermost part of the Universe - the microwave background - to be visible, its execution being a "hell noise". Then there is the underlying structure for formation of galaxies - the dark matter web, as seen here:

I tried to stay true to the picture, but I think it would need far more objects, less redraw, and possibly some crazy shaders to look like it. None of this is visible in real life, obviously, but I think it is a nice representation of the billions of light-years scale.
