More like the Terminator, it looks cool.

buriedantenna responds:

Cheers, I'm glad you like it. There is definitely a terminator feel to it, yes .

This looks amazing!

buriedantenna responds:

Thanks man :) Always a pleasure.

niiice.

buriedantenna responds:

Thanks Radeshtka, and thanks again for the useful comments on the forum as I was working on this :)

Would have thought one of these dudes would have some sort of gas mask on largely a full face piece with a filter set up on the chest. Just me though. Nice work. And what, no smokes? Not a deterant, just an observation.

buriedantenna responds:

Thanks, those are interesting questions. Well on the first point, the only parts of Arcis that are so polluted that you need a mask are the Sevetrin sectors- http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/632737

The Arcis Sec guards do have masks as part of their kit, but they generally just avoid those areas and the patrol boat crews especially just don't get that near to serious levels of pollution. Interesting that you mention smokes— I did try adding a cigarette between the fingers on the lowered hand, but it kind of just looked like an afterthought. The character certainly will smoke though. Your comment makes me think that you're on exactly the same page as me when it comes to the sort of feel I'm going for with this character/image.

Pollution, post apocalyptic dude, destroyed cities. What's new? Fallout 1 showed us this in 1998....and there were the predecessors. Don't get me wrong....it looks gorgeous but I see no originality here.

buriedantenna responds:

It's not post-apocalyptic, it's just a city with an industrial area nearby. Creating an image the likes of which the human race had never seen before wasn't really the objective, it was more just to portray the main character of the story. If you consider it a flaw that a piece of fiction is in a genre, you must not like many things. Mary Shelley was writing post-apocalyptic fiction in the 1820's... but I still enjoyed The Terminator more than a hundred and fifty years later.
