I wanted to name this swordsman after some figure from African history (maybe Hannibal or Sundjata Keita for example), but I couldn't make up my mind as to whom. In the end I chose to simply call him the Conqueror.

The curved shape of this guy's sword actually was inspired by the Ada swords used in the Kingdom of Benin (which paradoxically was located not in modern Benin but in what is now Nigeria), but the rest of his design is made up.
