Inspired by... a song! Yes, I was listening to Mushroomhead's "Bwomp", and there's a part where the guy says "True humanity", but the pause between the hu and manity makes it sound like he's talking about a rainbow manatee.
SO NATURALLY I TAKE THAT AND MAKE A PICTURE OUT OF IT.
It's sad that there's no more true Hue Manatee, though. They were my favorite kind. Guess we'll just have to settle for the artificial ones.

Over the last year, my son (now 11) developed a cute obsession for manatees, and this beautiful picture always pops up when he does a Google search for them. The 'Oh the HUE-MANATEE' meme with this picture is a riot. It is his FB profile picture. Also, a while back he said he wanted a manatee birthday cake. Well, I can be a creative Mom but not that creative, so we printed off this picture and took it to our bakery where they scanned it, put it on edible paper and put it on a cake for him. He was ecstatic when he saw it and we didn't want to eat it because we didn't want to wreck the art. I just wanted to thank you for making such a great picture and sharing it with the world. You are huge in this house. <3 (I wish there was a way for me to show it to you...epic!) I am also glad I took the time to look you up, now I can tell them all the story behind this piece!!
