A very serene piece, sort of an idyll peace. I love how the viewer gets even the start of the glimpse of how small we are, even as we seem big and dominating; it really hit me in that sort of way.
This was inspired by a bday card from my father with the simple quote written inside, "Another trip around the sun completed."
It triggered something that triggered this and I am incredibly pleased with the way it turned out as I have previously never done anything like it. I think i've only ever drawn a planet itself maybe twice in highschool :P

I always feel that way when I look at pictures of space and even when just standing beside the oceans. We mean very little except to ourselves but on the grand scheme, how much do we really affect? Read a book once that touched on this despite being an amusing bit of fiction called 'chasing the moon' by A Lee Martinez. Really good author, but in it there were massive creatures in other dimensions and even in our own within space that see us as little more than ants. If they were to 'roll over' we would be smited and they would never know or care....and now i'm done ramboling :D
Really dynamic piece.
Brilliant use of colour harmony and blending.
TY very much :D It was a happy surprise for me to be sure
