This is my 3d representation of Johnny Utah's Dad from the 2010 Calendar poster: "Ultra Demon Cannibal Force," starring Denzel Washington and Val Kilmer.

Soooo This piece of work, awesome as it is, comes with a very unfortunate story

I just got zbrush which is a high detail 3d sculpting program. Typically i use Mudbox, which is the Autodesk version...but I wanted to try Zbrush out. Unfortunately I am kind of a noob and I didn't know that you have to save your 'tools'. In Zbrush anything 3d is called a tool. Your document is just a 2D representation of the 3d model.

So I went on working...like 7 hopurs or so of work. No crashes. I was saving my documents diligently.
I took a few final screen captures when I finished sculpting to put on facebook. quit zbrush. opened it back later. The model is no longer 3d. Can't work on it anymore.

FUCK!!!!!!!!!

I was planning on coloring it and taking it into Maya and lighting & rendering it...perhaps with 'Me' and some other children scattered around
Now I don't know if I have the motivation to work on it from scratch again.

Sucks.

Luckily I have been losing work since I was like 8 yrs old...so this loss is unfortunate, but not enough to make me pull my hair out. Just sigh and die a little inside...

Critique is appreciated

I could have sworn there was another art piece with the exact same name. Maybe there was, it seems like there's so many a few were bound to have the same name. Anyway, what made this cool is how freaking realistic it is! It looks like an officially licensed toy that the website made, but it isn't! I guess it is a bit strange to see him being colored red. I can't believe this thing hasn't been scouted yet!

All of your hard work certianly paid off. I love the strong signs of detail put into the chainsaw, especially. This guy has a look like he's ready to do some damage. And you thought Ash from the "Evil Dead" movies was cool with his chainsaw arm! Too bad things went poorly for you, but you have the picture here for everyone to enjoy!

Wow

Sorry to hear that zbrush shit.

But the model itself is very, very delightful!
It would have been soooo awesome with some proper light and texturing.
But shit happens.
Very good anyway.

fantastic, to bad about the saving...

very nice and i would have loved to see a textured version(bot going to happen soon i suppose). what a waste that the file didn't save the way you wanted it to.

PS: thx for the warning about saving. i just got myself a copy of zbrush and i haven't fully understand the whole "tool" concept, so i will be very carefull when saving something.
