Traditional charcoal drawing I did for my Intro to Drawing class. This is my final drawing for that class.
I referenced the painting Napoleon Riding through the Alps. This is a self-portrait. I plan on eventually revisiting this image as a digital painting so I can make it more crisp, clean, and with more detail. Charcoal is so easy to smudge.

You did a real good job with your piece- somehow I can hear the sounds of the scene as if I were actually there, and see the movement of Napoleon's action.

YAY! I actually liked this but then "I did it for drawing class." I don't like that. Good job though but why not do it for you?
I did this as an assignment in a drawing class, but it was definitely for me. It's really a service to myself. I had been meaning to make this sort of drawing for a long time (always loved dinosaurs and the epic painting I referenced). I generally always find ways to bend drawing projects into something I would want to draw.
