Reminds me of Data's painting in TNG.
Rendered in Bryce 7 and postworked in Irfanview and the sprite editing mechanism in Game Maker 5.
It began as a multireplication of "tree" objects in Bryce; set to certain parameters, this created the impression of a long tunnel or spiral with intricate details. In the center was placed a large sphere with volumentric effects. Add a couple small image effects and voila.
