So, I went out and took several photos of brick walls and other abundant city textures and decided to apply some of them as textures for the creation of bitmaps for flash games.
This is just a little concept art using these photographed textures. What do you think of it? I know combining photgraphed textures has been done before, but do you think I'm achieveing it well?

You achieved it really well! Much better than what I have seen before. I love how you accomplished mixing the more cartoony style with the realistic background, which is what you wanted. And I personally like doing this sometimes myself, I do think the trashcan should be less dark, and maybe a metal trashcan or so, because its black and kind of takes some attention, unless you wanted that, either way, I love this.
