Love it.
I've seen art in this style before and I've always loved it. A simplistic drawing with a complex background. The smoke and splatter effects are both amazing and I have to give props for that smile.

Review
Actually i like no.1 more, and I don't think it would need a no.2 .. But I guess you ran out of ideas or something.
The character is fine, only that you forgot the shoes. Also the red/yellow smoke seems a little missplaced.
One thing i would like is that the character was sitting, since he already blew his mind wide open it looks a little wierd that he's still standing.
