sometimes an image can be stubborn in shaping out. In this case, a poor choice of lighting direction made what could have been a very dynamic and fun image to work on into something dull and tedious.I could go back eventually and rework the piece into something more polished by jumping back to the lighting layer at the very beginning, but most importantly i think this serves as a reminder to start by building the values into something i am satisfied with before moving on to the smaller details

EDIT: I went back in and finished up the picture with some detail work.
