In this scene Asyril is depicted as a child facing off against a giant Tarkavan (Kinda like a mix between a giant and an ogre) deep within the Emerald Forest. Her ability to commune with nature allows her to subdue the beast. Unknown to her, a Shadow Monk from a nearby monastery had heard the commotion and rushed to the area to see her using such an incredible gift. The monk "Remus" brings the child to the Monastery and the decision is made to have her taken from her parents to be raised as one of the Shadow Priestess's.

i like the way you did the giants skin.
This is one of my favourite of your art, I love the slimy and scaly skin texture of the monster and its slumping pose. I think the background could use a touch more detail but it is still great. Keep up the great artwork.
That's retardly awesome.
Whatever this was made in, it's eyepoppingly gorgeous. And the backstory's pretty good too.
great job, love it
Wow the 'Tarkavan' looks amazing, really cool and excellently detailed.
Reminds me of Blanka from Street Fighter
your awesome keep doin what you do all your art is so kick ass
Such a detailed piece, with the amount of time and effort that must have been put into the Tarkavan's skin alone. I personally love the little touches, such as the broken thumb nail that you've put in the foreground.
It's a shame that we couldn't see the monk who is watching all of this, although this might be from his point of view, so there's not too much lost there. You've certainly thought out quite and enthralling tale and I'd certainly love to have a read of it at some point.
The figure does remind me somewhat of a Troll from Dungeons & Dragons, though with a lot more muscle definition. I bet they are quite fearsome beasts when they are met in combat.

One look at the "Tarkavan" and I thought Blanka, cool nonetheless though
the big creature Kinda reminds me of blanca from Street Fighter
Great artwork! The only think I noticed was that the nipples seem a little out of place with the rest of his body. :P
I definately thought this was Blanka. Great though.
Dude how the crap did you make this!?!?!
It's like the most epic artwork ever made!!!!!
Definitely one of the coolest pieces of artwork here at NG.
