In a world where super-intelligent androids walking down the street like ordinary people is an extremely common sight, this particular model is considered outdated technology, and branded useless in terms of working efficiently. So, with no particular purpose to fulfill, he spends his days in a bar, smoking cigars and occasionally flashing a dark smile as if he has something sinister planned.
I may end up revising this at some point, but I still consider it a completed piece, and not a work in progress. This was the first drawing that I ever scanned and attempted to touch up/enhance with Gimp & Picasa. Please, let me know what you think!

I will say that this was a very unique character from the teeth to the hat even the slight color was a nice touch allthough some added backround detail would be a plus on this unique character still found it to be creative and a work of art and was very impressed with your efforts here so nice submission untill the next entry keep making amazing stuff

This is an interesting style. It reminds me a bit of the Robots movie, and I like the blurr effect that makes it look like the bland background is actually a light. Somehow I imagine a dusty post-apocalyptic world just from that effect. From a distance the character also looks detailed and metallic, but zoomed in (original size) the grains are almost too visible. Nice work!

Thanks! I think this is probably my favorite piece that I've done... I put a lot of time into it!
That was the idea. I tried to make it look like light was flooding in from behind him... sort of due to me being terrible at drawing environments. If I ever manage to get decent at that, I might try to make it look like he's just entered a bar during the daytime, with the door still open behind him, if that makes sense?
I think the grainy look might have been from one of the effects that I added in with Picasa. I think I probably just "sharpened" it too much. It bothers me too -_-
And once again, I'm rambling and over-explaining. Sorry about that ^_^;
