Dunkelritter = Dark Knight
This is from another old and not well-known SNES game. I also decided to add Gaia in the background because the red on its own was too bright.
Since I didn't find any official artwork, I only looked at the sprite, and added stuff on my own. For example, I made his pupils black; you couldn't have told from looking at the sprite itself.

hey........i know this guy
is this supposed to be freedan? the knight that the main character will can turn into....i remember that game a bit, his color scheme was originally blue!

Yes, it's Freedan. And someone else also pointed out the bit about his armor being blue elsewhere; I thought it was just some lighting, and that it was naturally some dark black or gray color, but a bit of variation is probably acceptable.
