"I love you" (Karateka Ending)

Share

My entry for the "New Resolution" contest.
This scene is from "Karateka", a 1984 videogame originally released on Apple II but that was later ported to many consoles. The scene I chose is from the NES port (1985)
The game was developed by Jordan Mechner (better known for creating the Prince of Persia series) and Brøderbund, now a defunct company.

I love the emotions conveyed in the scene. I think the simple color method was a good choice. You are not distracted by detail. Great work!

Great job for a awesome game. I still remember the first time I played this game.. got to the girl and accidently went into fight stance. Ouch... she has a mean kick! Game Over Man!
Keep up the good work!

this looks simple, yet very powerful and magnetic :)

This is so freaking beautiful! I can just stare at it all day long!

Hey thanks, I checked your submission too. It's really good.
Lots of cool illustrations from everybody, actually.

This looks super cool. I like the conveyed emotion, the flow and simplistic approach, just awesome.

Thank you. I was initially thinking of adding shadows and lights to the colors but ended up deciding for the "plain" color version. Not really sure why, if I'd have to give an aswer it would be "because I liked it better".
