Love the style
This style would make for an awesome animation. Where is he? At his flat? In an institution? I agree with Krinkels about the pain killers, but why stop there? You could also have, if he is in a ward, some overtly crazy people outside the window, meandering around an overly-picturesque rose garden, complete with the statue fountain of the little boy pissing out the water. Certainly you can stick to your color scheme with that.
Or, if he is at his flat, in addition to the pain killers you could have a bottle of anything 90 proof or above, a smoldering cigarrette that looks like he's been holding it a while, overtly bloodshot eyes, maybe a pistol, or a knife, a deck of cards laid out in solitare or something, with the queen of hearts in plain sight, or maybe an ace or queen of spades. He could even use a scar somewhere on his face. Just a thought.
i dunno where it he is, maybe in a bar on the highway on his way to find the man who did this to him?

Love the scribbly style.
Love that style, so much. So expressive. Scribbly style + turtleneck = very awesome. This is really nice, makes me want to get some use outta my tablet here soon.
He needs a freshly emptied bottle of painkillers on the table there. Looks like he would need it.

awesome
despite the fact that the only colours are grey and red it feels vibrant, and the sketch book look reminds me of many doodles done during math class (that is a good thing) :D
