There are many things I want to say about this peice, but i'll keep it simle and say this: I am so happy with the way this turned out. I'm highly critical of myself and my own art but for the first time in a long while, I am actually pleased with the final result.

Originally the concept of this was going to be a dragon that was half digitally painted and half coloured pencil. However, in the sketching phase my generic dragon turned into a chinese dragon. The idea then struck me to take inspiration from chinese painting techniques. I've always liked the asthetic of older chinese paintings, and this was so much fun to replicate.

The title of this was difficult to come up with. I had a few ideas but, "Dynasties Apart" sounded really fitting.

Let me know what you think!!

It looks great! I think it really helped that you decided to use something other than coloured pencil for the traditional side, it'll make it stand out more in the contest

Thanks!
I do agree with you. I'm glad I decided to go a little more out of the box with this. It pushed me out of my comfort zone a bit and it was a lot more fun to create :)

This looks really nice, love the style and concept (and the tittle is fitting.) As I might be taking this a bit too competitively this makes me a bit nervous if I can match even the general level of quality^^ Just saying that you sure are putting the bar up high, gj

AgentLaufeyson responds:

Oh my gosh, thank you so much!
I was quite nervous when I decided to enter this month, because I've seen some absolutly amazing talent in the past challenges. Here's to hoping!
